Bailey’s final feature for National Rose Month last month was the velvety dark red Kashmir Rose. Each full 3″ bloom resembles a hybrid tea, that just begs to be cut and shown off in a vase. A recurrent bloomer, Kashmir is covered with blossoms on its evenly round habit. New growth is a lovely reddish purple hue, with the tops of the leaves turning a clean green as they mature.
At only 3-4′ tall by 2-3′ wide, this luscious rose fits perfectly into today’s urban landscapes. Hardy from zones 4-9, try this bold accent plant in the border, foundation or as a low hedge, hugging paths and walkways.
