It’s starting to feel a lot like fall. We have been fortunate to have such great weather this last month. Usually August will bring warm and humid temperatures but as of lately we had cool mornings and beautiful days. Rain and hot humid days can really put a damper on installing landscape jobs.
We recently did a job that consisted of completely updating the front foundation of a home in Apple Valley. We removed all the existing material and updated the front of the home with a whole new look.
REMOVAL & DISPOSAL:
The first part of the project was to remove and dispose all the plant material, rock, poly, edging and debris from the existing landscape beds. Removals are probably the least fun of any landscape project. It can be very exhausting, especially when you’re digging up big stumps and removing rock.
INSTALLATION:
Installation is the most rewarding and fun part of a landscape project. The first thing the crew installed was soil. It was spread throughout the landscape beds and along the foundation to build up and slope away from the house. Poly edging was then installed to establish the bed lines and containing the rock from spreading into the lawn.
Once the soil and edging was installed the plant material was placed and planted. We used an assortment of shrubs, evergreens and perennials to add color and texture throughout the seasons.
The final part of the project was to install river rock and 6mil landscape poly over the soil to prevent weeds from coming up. We used 2.5” river rock which is a bigger and updated look from the 1.5” river rock.
This is a type of project that Pahls landscaping does a lot of and it’s always rewarding providing a customer with a new beautiful look. Call Pahl’s Landscaping to set up an appointment for us to help create and install your next landscape project.
