Employee Name:  Dave Pritchard

Number of years of service at Pahl’s:
Started back in 1971 as a kid working in the cuke and pepper fields. Currently I’ve been back as a seasonal employee for the last 5 years.

Briefly describe your job duties at Pahl’s:
The majority of my job duties is delivering.  Beginning in the Spring I deliver flowers to local retail outlets. After that the landscape business is in full swing and I deliver supplies to the local job sites.  Beginning in July the produce that has been planted for the season is beginning to mature and I’ll deliver that up until the last pumpkin has been taken from the field.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?
I’ve been at Pahls off and on since the early 70’s. They keep having me back. That in itself is very rewarding.

Tell us about your family?
I’ve been married to my wife Liz for almost 31 years. We have two great kids.  Jenna is a recent college graduate from McNally Smith College of Music.  Libby will be a Junior this fall at the College of St. Benedict’s.  Everly, Jenna’s daughter, is the latest edition to our family. She is going to be 2 years old this September and each day is a blessing to have her around.

What is your favorite time of day/day of the week/month of the year?
Interesting question, I feel like I’m a kid at heart. Have always liked the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas and what goes with it, excitement, family getting together, Holiday parties, etc.

What is the farthest you have been away from home?
Tell us the most unique experience from that trip? Probably some ports of call into Mexico and Central America.   In Honduras we left the tourist area and ventured into town. Only several blocks but a world of difference in how they and many others live. Very humbling experience and very thankful for what we have and take for granted.

What are three things on your “Bucket List” ?
I’ve never made a ‘bucket list’, maybe to not disappoint? Not sure but as I write this my daughter Libby is studying in Italy. It sounds like a fabulous place and I would like to visit that country.

What do you miss most about being a kid?
The age of being a kid!

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
Draw or paint.

What was the first thing you bought with your own money?
I bought a baseball bat and a coin bank, you would drop a coin in a hole and it would roll to its designated slot.  $5.00 total.  Serious.

If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?
Give Gary & Brian Pahl the keys to the delivery truck.

What is your all time favorite movie?
Airplane

What song do you play the most often?
I like to listen to many different kinds of music and always have my Ipod on shuffle.  Try not to listen to the same song frequently. Maybe a copout?!
